Specializing in retail and commercial architecture for over two decades, and largely flying under the radar, Alex Rebanks has guided and built projects for some of North America’s most well-known and loved brands and for developers, including Loblaw, Sobeys, Hudson Bay, LCBO, Canadian Tire, SmartCentres, Saks Fifth Ave and LA Fitness.

Having grown up in a family of architects and major retailers, Alex from a young age was fascinated with how complex projects take shape, and keen to understand how all the different parts work together. This passion continues to this day as the key driver for the practice, which seeks to marry the importance of the design solution with the pragmatic, logical orchestration of all the different stakeholders and development stages throughout construction.

Alex Rebanks is a graduate of the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London. Considered one of the world’s most exciting architecture schools, Alex was embedded in an inspired city, studying with colleagues and mentors focused on boundary-pushing research and provocative ideas.

Alex’s work has taken him from England to India and all across Canada, landing for a number of years in Whistler, BC before relocating to Toronto.

An explorer at heart, Alex pilots both a private plane and a kayak, except in winter when he can be found carving a path on a snowboard.
